That’s one of the most common – and most valid – questions I get from clients
Because honestly…
WordPress is being abused these days
People install tons of plugins
Both necessary and completely unnecessary
And it’s horrible
Each new plugin means:
Extra code to load
Extra JS and CSS
More PHP execution
And often… more bugs.
The biggest reason I found behind this bad practice?
“Lack of coding knowledge”
They don’t want to touch the codebase
Don’t care about best practices
So they keep stacking plugins
I’ve had 2 clients who were terrified of plugins
They didn’t even let me install a single one.
In one project, I still can remember
I had to build 3 custom Divi modules manually
What could’ve been solved with a plugin in 10 minutes took me 2 extra days.
But you know what?
That was perfectly fine.
The client was happy.
The site ran smoothly.
And I hit my goal….clean, optimized, and efficient.
Your clients approve the Figma file.
But they judge you by the live website.
And that’s exactly where most agencies lose control
So I’ll ask you this
Are your dev choices protecting your agency’s reputation… or quietly hurting it?
